Publisher Description

Welcome to the Generic Universal RolePlaying System!

With GURPS, you can be anyone you want – an elf hero fighting for the forces of good, a shadowy femme fatale on a deep-cover mission, a futuristic swashbuckler carving up foes with a force sword in his hand and a beautiful woman by his side . . . or literally anything else! Thanks to its flexibility, quality writing, and ease of use, GURPS has been the premiere universal roleplaying game for over three decades!

A Fan-Made GURPS Star Wars Supplement [ edit ]

Unlike all of the other GURPS resources we've mentioned, GURPS Star Wars Sourcebook is not an official product, so you won't find it listed on Steve Jackson's Website.  In fact, without a Google search it might be difficult to find it at all: perhaps fearing Disney's army of lawyers (despite any legitimate fair use claim it may have), the author of the book, Abel Jet Castillo (aka Dark Lord Azagthoth), keeps a relatively low profile for it online.

However, once you do find it, the book offers everything a GM needs to start a campaign in the Star Wars universe.  The start of the book contains about 40 pages of setting material, giving you everything you need to know about the  setting's governments, history, and technology.  After that comes chapters with GURPS rules info, one each for Advantages, Disadvantages, and Skills.  After that it provides chapters with rules for the Force, and space combat, and then finally it finishes with a series of technology chapters, detailing rules for the weapons, vehicles, spaceships, droids, and aliens found in the setting.

The Best Way to Play GURPS Star Wars ... and Its Free [ edit ]

It's worth mentioning that there are of course other, official, Star Wars RPGs out there, including several that are still in print.  However, none of them let you use GURPS rules to experience the Star Wars universe ... and also none of them are free.

In other words, if you want an officially licensed product, or some rule system other than GURPS, you may want to skip GURPS Star Wars Sourcebook ... but otherwise this completely free fan-made supplement will give you everything you need to start adventuring on Tatooine, Coruscant, and anywhere else you might want to go in the Star Wars universe.
